A $7.5 million water spectacular right on Lake Taneycomo β 120-foot geysers, fire cannons, and choreographed light shows. Runs every hour noonβ10pm (Sunday until 9pm). Fire joins the water starting at 7pm. The 8pm show is the crowd favorite. Stick around after for a walk along the boardwalk.
A 140-acre nature preserve right inside Branson with rugged trails, a cave, a waterfall, and the famous 315 stone steps down to Lake Taneycomo. Free to enter, free to park. Great morning hike β wear real shoes, some sections are moderately steep. One of the best kept secrets in town.
Missouri state parks are free to enter. Table Rock has a paved lakeshore trail, swim areas, picnic tables, a playground, and stunning views of the lake and dam. Pack a lunch and make a morning of it. Good for all ages β the trail is easy and the scenery does all the work.
Free admission to Missouri's largest trout hatchery at 483 Hatchery Road below Table Rock Dam. Walk the outdoor raceways, see 700,000+ trout, check out the live animal exhibits (geckos, snakes, a tarantula), and feed the fish for a quarter. Free guided tours available. Great for kids.
A panoramic pulloff on Highway 165 with sweeping views of Table Rock Dam, Lake Taneycomo, and the southern edge of Branson. Best at sunset. Takes about 5 minutes to get there from the strip and zero dollars to enjoy. Bring your camera β it's genuinely one of the best views in the area.
Branson's free trolley loops downtown with 12 stops hitting Main Street, Branson Landing, the Convention Center, and more. Great way to explore Historic Downtown without fighting for parking. Hop on and off as you like. Downtown is also full of free murals, flea markets, and local shops worth wandering.
A beautiful, totally free campus walk with fountains, historic buildings, and the Williams Memorial Chapel. Student-run Edward Mills has free tours showing traditional flour milling and hand-weaving. Stop at the Keeter Center for farm-fresh ice cream from Nettie Marie's β that part costs money but it's very worth it.
Free admission, all ages. Rotating exhibits covering Branson's history β from the 1907 publication of Shepherd of the Hills to the 1930s airport to the birth of the live show scene. Small but well-done. Good rainy-day option and a quick 45-minute stop that gives the whole trip some real context.
The dam stands 252 feet tall and the Dewey Short Visitor Center (US Army Corps of Engineers) is free to visit, with exhibits on the White River watershed, local habitats, artifacts, and a film on how the whole system works. Great views of the dam and lake right from the center. 6 miles west of Hwy 65 on MO-165.
